Every NeuroFX autism assessment is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE CG142 (autism in adults).
For Wellingborough patients in particular, autism assessment is multidisciplinary by design. Tina leads your assessment and report; Cheyenne Contreras, NeuroFX's specialist ADOS-2 practitioner, co-conducts the ADOS-2 observation. Wellingborough sits in North Northamptonshire, where neurodevelopmental assessment for children is delivered by Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust through the county Children and Young People ADHD and ASD service, with referrals accepted only via the Referral Management Centre and not directly from parents. In North Northamptonshire that NHS service covers children of all school ages, a wider remit than neighbouring West Northamptonshire, but the average wait for a first appointment was 93 weeks as of April 2026. To ease pressure, NHS Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board funded more than 500 extra neurodevelopmental assessments for the county in 2025/26, delivered through the independent provider Healios.
Unlike parts of London and the East of England, Northamptonshire's ICB is unchanged: it is in a clustering arrangement with Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland but remains a separate legal entity, with any formal merger not expected before April 2027. Locally, families can draw on Wellingborough groups such as the FACT Northants coffee morning at Olympic Primary School, alongside Autism East Midlands. A NeuroFX private assessment is intended to sit alongside this NHS care rather than replace it, and any shared-care prescribing afterwards remains at the GP's sole discretion, so patients for whom shared care matters should speak to their GP before booking.
