Medication, in a structure that supports it.

ADHD medication can be genuinely transformational. It can also be tricky to get right, the wrong dose, the wrong formulation, or no monitoring at all can mean side‑effects you didn't sign up for and a treatment that under‑delivers. Our six‑month package exists because the first six months are when getting it right matters most.

You'll be prescribed and supported by Tina, our Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner and Independent Prescriber (NISP). NMC‑registered, NICE‑aligned, and the same clinician throughout.

A clear, monthly structure, titration first, then stabilisation, then handover. Two routes lead into it, depending on where you were diagnosed.

Already diagnosed elsewhere?

If you have an existing ADHD diagnosis from another private clinic or NHS service and need ongoing prescribing, we can help, but we'll do an onboarding review first to make sure the diagnostic foundation is sound.

Why the onboarding review?

Not all ADHD assessments are equal. Some clinics use a 20‑minute checklist; some assessments aren't documented well enough to act on. The onboarding review (£250) is a clinical conversation where we review your existing report, confirm the diagnosis stands, and decide together whether to continue your current medication or adjust.

If the original assessment doesn't meet NICE standards, we may recommend a fresh assessment. We'll be straight with you about that, and the onboarding fee is the only money you'll have committed.

Shared care with your GP.

Many ADHD patients want their medication on the NHS once they're stable. This is called shared care, your private specialist (us) makes the diagnosis and stabilises medication, then your NHS GP takes over routine prescribing under a written agreement.

Whether your GP will accept shared care is a decision they make individually. We make it as easy as possible for them: structured handover letter, summary of titration, clear monitoring schedule, contact details for any questions.

If your GP says no

You can continue with us. Two options after the six‑month package:

• Repeat prescribing at £50 per month for patients out of titration and stable. This covers your monthly private prescription and ongoing oversight.
• Stable‑medication reviews at £250 per review, annual for adults, six‑monthly for children, in line with NICE NG87.

Or a renewed monthly package if your clinical picture isn't yet stable.

Medication options.

There isn't one "best" ADHD medication. There's the one that works best for you, with manageable side‑effects, that fits your life. NICE guidance recommends starting with stimulants for most adults, but the right choice is yours and Tina's to make together.

Stimulants

• Methylphenidate, typically first-line. Acts quickly, well-researched, with immediate-release and modified-release options. Examples include Concerta XL, Medikinet XL, Equasym XL, Xaggitin XL and Meflynate XL. The modified-release brands each release the dose on a different curve through the day, so they are prescribed by brand and chosen around when you need cover, and immediate-release tablets are sometimes added to fine-tune timing.
• Lisdexamfetamine, once-daily with a smooth onset, sold in the UK as Elvanse. It is a prodrug, converted gradually into dexamfetamine in the body, which is what gives the gentle start and a full working day of cover from one morning dose. Often a good choice if methylphenidate doesn't suit or stops helping.

Non‑stimulants

• Atomoxetine (Strattera), useful where stimulants are unsuitable, e.g. anxiety profiles, sleep concerns, certain heart conditions.
• Guanfacine (Intuniv), primarily for children but used in some adult cases.

Safety & monitoring.

ADHD medications are controlled drugs and clinically active, they need monitoring. We follow NICE NG87 guidance on monitoring frequency and content.

• Baseline measurements before starting: blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, ECG where indicated.
• Monthly reviews during titration: physical observations, side‑effect tracker, daily‑life impact.
• Annual reviews once stable (six‑monthly for children): physical observations, lifestyle review, medication efficacy.
• Annual full review: a comprehensive check‑in, including any non‑medication recommendations.

We share a structured monitoring letter with your GP at each review, regardless of whether you're under shared care, so the medical record stays joined up.

Cost & payment.

The six‑month treatment package is £995 all‑inclusive: prescribing, monthly clinical reviews, monitoring, and handover letter. The medication itself is paid for separately at a pharmacy. While you are in titration with NeuroFX we issue a private prescription, so you pay a private dispensing fee (typically £10 to £20 per item) plus the cost of the medication itself, which varies by drug, strength and pharmacy. If your GP later agrees to shared care, the standard NHS prescription charge applies instead. We set out the indicative private price of each ADHD medication on our ADHD medication costs page.

• Interest-free instalments available through Klarna and Clearpay, subject to their eligibility checks.
• Onboarding review (existing diagnosis): £250, a 60‑minute consultation including a full physical and mental health onboarding screen, ADHD symptom screen, sleep, mood and physical observations, and a detailed review of current diagnosis and any previous medication usage.
• Repeat prescribing (post‑package, no shared care): £50 per month, for patients out of titration and stable on medication.
• Stable medication review (post‑package): £250 per review, annual for adults, six‑monthly for children.
• Supporting letters (employer, university, school): included free of charge.
