We use two different validated screeners depending on who the screen is for. Pick the one that fits:
For adults (18+), the six‑question screen is based on the Adult ADHD Self‑Report Scale (ASRS‑v1.1), developed by the WHO and the same first‑pass tool used by GPs and specialist clinics.
For children aged 6 to 17, parents complete a six‑question screen drawn from the SNAP‑IV, a widely‑used parent‑rated instrument covering inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. We assess children from age 6; below that, ADHD is better evaluated through ongoing observation at nursery or early school.
Neither screen can diagnose ADHD. Both tell you whether the patterns are the ones clinicians look for, and whether it's worth booking a proper assessment.
ADHD presents differently in adults and children, so we use a different validated screener for each. Pick the one that fits.
Whether the screen flagged something or not, here's what we recommend.
