Hello, I'm Tina. I'm the lead clinician at NeuroFX. At our CQC-registered clinic, we offer specialist autism and ADHD assessments for children aged six and over and adults.
So after booking an assessment with us online or in person, you'll then be invited to take part in the onboarding process, and that is for you to be able to tell your story. It will include physical and mental health history, and then after that, you'll be sent some additional screening tools, which can all be completed in digital format online. You can pause at any time, and you can do that in the comfort of your own home. This enables me to better understand your story and your individual needs before we meet.
Next is your ADHD assessment, which is either online or in the clinic, coming to talk to me face to face. The process does take about two to three hours. That'll give you a chance to hopefully feel relaxed in an environment where you can tell me about the impacts and difficulties and how these have affected you. This follows all NICE guidelines.
In some situations, I may be able to tell you the diagnosis on the same day that we meet. In other scenarios, I might have to perhaps gain some more evidence. You might need to talk to other people, employers, family, partners, school, university, for me to be able to get a really good idea of the evidence, perhaps that you can't see yourself, and might help towards that diagnosis. You'll be provided a diagnostic report, provided I have all of that evidence, within 14 days.

Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner & Independent Prescriber (NISP)
Every NeuroFX ADHD assessment is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE NG87 (ADHD diagnosis and management).
For Romford patients in particular, having one clinician end-to-end means no diagnostic hand-offs and no inconsistency between assessment and prescriber. Same person, all the way through.
For most Romford adults, the 70 minute journey to our Bedford clinic is worth it for the in-person experience. Online over secure video is fully available for adults who'd rather not travel; the diagnostic protocol is identical.
Bedford Consulting Rooms on Goldington Road is a calm, residential-style space, not a hospital. Pay and display car park immediately next door (1 minute walk). Central rail station 8 minutes walk.
If travel isn't realistic, adult assessments can be conducted entirely online via a secure GDPR-compliant video platform. The diagnostic protocol and the fee are identical. Not available for under-18s.

Romford lies within the London Borough of Havering and is served by NHS North East London Integrated Care Board, which covers around two million people across eight local authority areas including Havering. Despite the wider NHS reorganisation, North East London ICB was not part of NHS England's 1 April 2026 Phase 1 mergers; in London those changes abolished only North Central London and North West London ICBs to create the new NHS West and North London ICB, so North East London remains a statutory body commissioning services locally.
NHS assessments for children in Havering run through North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT), whose BHR Children's Autism Service for Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge accepted 2,584 referrals and completed 1,786 assessments across 2025-2026, an indication of sustained local demand; younger children may be seen through Havering CAMHS at the Acorn Centre in Romford or community paediatrics. Pressure is visible on the council side too: the Romford Recorder (8 November 2023) reported parents protesting proposed SEND changes that included a target of at least a 20 per cent reduction in new Education, Health and Care Plans, and later coverage set out a projected council budget deficit of around 75 million pounds for 2025-2026 with special educational needs cited among the drivers.
Local research adds context; a 2025 study in Nature Human Behaviour involving Queen Mary University of London in east London used data from up to 21,792 identical twins to show that genetic differences in sensitivity to the environment shape traits including ADHD symptoms and autistic traits. Any shared-care arrangement for medication after a private assessment remains at the GP's sole discretion, so we suggest speaking to your GP first if shared care matters to you, and families also have local support to lean on, including Romford Autistic Group Support, the Sycamore Trust Havering All-Age Autism Service and Havering SENDIASS.

Right to Choose is an NHS England policy letting eligible patients choose any NHS-contracted provider for ADHD assessment, including some private providers funded by the NHS. It is not a NeuroFX service.
It exists, has helped people, and has been overwhelmed in turn: published waits at many RTC providers are now measured in years. The ADHD UK tracker is the single best place to compare current RTC provider waits.
Entering into a shared-care agreement after private titration is entirely at the individual GP's sole discretion, and is also affected by North East London ICB policy. We cannot guarantee any GP will take on prescribing responsibility following a private assessment or titration.
If shared care after titration is a priority for you, speak to your Romford GP before booking to understand their position. We will provide a structured handover designed to make that conversation as easy as possible.
Romford is an East London market town -- genuinely a market town, with a charter dating from 1247 that is still in use most days of the week -- that was absorbed into Greater London in 1965 but has retained a distinct, practical, working character that owes more to Essex than to the capital.
