Read the transcript

Hello, I'm Tina. I'm the lead clinician at NeuroFX. At our CQC-registered clinic, we offer specialist autism and ADHD assessments for children aged six and over and adults.

So after booking an assessment with us online or in person, you'll then be invited to take part in the onboarding process, and that is for you to be able to tell your story. It will include physical and mental health history, and then after that, you'll be sent some additional screening tools, which can all be completed in digital format online. You can pause at any time, and you can do that in the comfort of your own home. This enables me to better understand your story and your individual needs before we meet.

Next is your ADHD assessment, which is either online or in the clinic, coming to talk to me face to face. The process does take about two to three hours. That'll give you a chance to hopefully feel relaxed in an environment where you can tell me about the impacts and difficulties and how these have affected you. This follows all NICE guidelines.

In some situations, I may be able to tell you the diagnosis on the same day that we meet. In other scenarios, I might have to perhaps gain some more evidence. You might need to talk to other people, employers, family, partners, school, university, for me to be able to get a really good idea of the evidence, perhaps that you can't see yourself, and might help towards that diagnosis. You'll be provided a diagnostic report, provided I have all of that evidence, within 14 days.

So wherever you are on your journey, all the information is available on our website. You could book a call to talk to our team. You can book online. You can also simply email us if you have any questions. We do have payment plans available to pay in three or four instalments. So we look forward to meeting you and working with you on your journey.

Every NeuroFX medication and titration package is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE NG87 plus BAP guidance for paediatric ADHD pharmacology. For Winslow patients in particular, having one clinician end-to-end means no diagnostic hand-offs and no inconsistency between assessment and prescriber. Same person, all the way through.

Your local NHS context

Winslow ADHD waiting times and your NHS options.

You are served clinically by NHS Thames Valley ICB. A private NeuroFX onboarding is typically 6 to 8 weeks (next available soon).

Local NHS context and support

Winslow is a small Buckinghamshire town, recently back on the rail map with a new East West Rail station built on its western edge, and like the rest of the county it sits within a stretched NHS neurodevelopmental system. Buckinghamshire Council's own neurodevelopmental position statement, last updated on 10 February 2026, records that the waiting list for an autism or ADHD assessment is currently over two years, while making clear that a child does not need a diagnosis to get support.

For children and young people aged 5 to 18, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust runs the Buckinghamshire CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team, which reports that referrals for ADHD and autism assessments have nearly doubled since June 2024. For adults, the trust's Buckinghamshire Adult ADHD Service has been paused to new referrals since 5 February 2024, and its page notes that GPs may decide to support people to choose an alternative NHS-approved provider under the NHS Right to Choose rules. Winslow has its own specialist provision in Furze Down School on Verney Road, a Buckinghamshire special school for communication and interaction.

A local milestone is the move, on 1 April 2026, of all Buckinghamshire NHS commissioning into the new NHS Thames Valley ICB, formed from the merger of the former BOB and Frimley boards. A private NeuroFX assessment is intended to sit alongside NHS care, never to replace it; any shared care for medication afterwards remains at the GP's sole discretion, so if shared care matters to you we suggest speaking to your GP before booking.

Families locally are also supported by FACT Bucks, the county's parent carer forum, by the autism and learning disability charity Talkback, and by the council's SEND Local Offer and Bucks SENDIAS service.

Your GP and shared care

Shared care and your Winslow GP.

Two things every Winslow patient asks about. We've separated them clearly here so you can decide your route with full information, rather than discovering the catch after you have booked.

Right to Choose · NHS-funded

Right to Choose, plainly explained.

Right to Choose is an NHS England policy letting eligible patients choose any NHS-contracted provider for ADHD assessment, including some private providers funded by the NHS. It is not a NeuroFX service.

It exists, has helped people, and has been overwhelmed in turn: published waits at many RTC providers are now measured in years. The ADHD UK tracker is the single best place to compare current RTC provider waits.

If RTC is your priority, check the tracker first. If a fast private route is your priority, that is what NeuroFX is for.
Open the ADHD UK tracker →
Shared care · GP prescribing

Shared care is your GP's decision.

Entering into a shared-care agreement after private titration is entirely at the individual GP's sole discretion, and is also affected by NHS Thames Valley ICB policy. We cannot guarantee any GP will take on prescribing responsibility following a private assessment or titration.

If shared care after titration is a priority for you, speak to your Winslow GP before booking to understand their position. We will provide a structured handover designed to make that conversation as easy as possible.

No surprises. We'd rather lose a booking than have you discover this after you've paid.

About the Winslow patients we prescribe for

In and around Winslow.

Winslow is a small Buckinghamshire market town that has retained much of its eighteenth-century character -- the market square, the coaching inns, the proportioned Georgian buildings -- partly through the accident of not lying on a main railway line or major road, which meant it was never quite prosperous enough to rebuild itself in the Victorian manner. Winslow Hall, on the edge of the town, is attributed to Christopher Wren and is one of the finest smaller country houses in England.

The town sits in the Vale of Aylesbury with wide views across agricultural land, and the local community life has a quality of continuity that is increasingly rare in towns that have experienced more dramatic growth.

This page is for Winslow, Aylesbury, Buckingham, Milton Keynes, Mursley, Granborough, Whitchurch and surrounding villages.
