Read the transcript

Hello, I'm Tina. I'm the lead clinician at NeuroFX. At our CQC-registered clinic, we offer specialist autism and ADHD assessments for children aged six and over and adults.

So after booking an assessment with us online or in person, you'll then be invited to take part in the onboarding process, and that is for you to be able to tell your story. It will include physical and mental health history, and then after that, you'll be sent some additional screening tools, which can all be completed in digital format online. You can pause at any time, and you can do that in the comfort of your own home. This enables me to better understand your story and your individual needs before we meet.

Next is your ADHD assessment, which is either online or in the clinic, coming to talk to me face to face. The process does take about two to three hours. That'll give you a chance to hopefully feel relaxed in an environment where you can tell me about the impacts and difficulties and how these have affected you. This follows all NICE guidelines.

In some situations, I may be able to tell you the diagnosis on the same day that we meet. In other scenarios, I might have to perhaps gain some more evidence. You might need to talk to other people, employers, family, partners, school, university, for me to be able to get a really good idea of the evidence, perhaps that you can't see yourself, and might help towards that diagnosis. You'll be provided a diagnostic report, provided I have all of that evidence, within 14 days.

So wherever you are on your journey, all the information is available on our website. You could book a call to talk to our team. You can book online. You can also simply email us if you have any questions. We do have payment plans available to pay in three or four instalments. So we look forward to meeting you and working with you on your journey.

Every NeuroFX medication and titration package is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE NG87 plus BAP guidance. She works with both stimulants (lisdexamfetamine, methylphenidate IR and modified-release) and non-stimulants (atomoxetine, guanfacine), chosen based on your clinical picture, not protocol.

For Manchester patients in particular, having one clinician end-to-end means no diagnostic hand-offs and no inconsistency between assessment and prescriber. Same person, all the way through.

Your local NHS context

Manchester ADHD waiting times and your NHS options.

You are served clinically by Greater Manchester ICB. A private NeuroFX onboarding is typically 6 to 8 weeks (next available soon).

Data direct from your region

Manchester sits within NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board (NHS GM), the statutory body that decides NHS health services across the ten Greater Manchester boroughs. Demand for neurodevelopmental assessment here is among the highest in the country: an Urmston Group Practice update for patients (27 October 2025) reported that more than 25,000 adults are currently on waiting lists and that waiting times can range from 18 months to over seven years, while the local NHS care organisation Trafford LCO noted adult waiting lists have grown over 400% since 2022. From 1 September 2025 NHS GM temporarily held back new non-urgent ADHD and autism assessment bookings, including through Right to Choose, with non-urgent assessments expected to restart from April 2026 under a new needs-led model that prioritises those with the highest clinical need; specialist outlet Special Needs Jungle (28 November 2025) confirmed Greater Manchester ICB was among at least nine NHS areas to pause non-urgent Right to Choose referrals.

Local research reflects rising recognition too: a University of Manchester-led study in the British Journal of General Practice (12 August 2025) found that, in the two years after March 2020, recorded ADHD diagnoses in young women were around a quarter higher than expected. Against that backdrop NeuroFX offers private ADHD and autism assessments to Manchester patients by secure online appointment, available alongside NHS care rather than replacing it, with our assessment typically completed in 6 to 8 weeks.

Any shared-care arrangement for medication after a private assessment remains at the GP's sole discretion, so we suggest speaking to your GP first if shared care matters to you. Families also have genuinely local support to draw on, including the Manchester Parent Carer Forum, the charity I AM (formerly the Autistic Society of Greater Manchester) and Manchester City Council's SEND Local Offer.

Your GP and shared care

Shared care and your Manchester GP.

Two things every Manchester patient asks about. We've separated them clearly here so you can decide your route with full information, rather than discovering the catch after you have booked.

Right to Choose · NHS-funded

Right to Choose, plainly explained.

Right to Choose is an NHS England policy letting eligible patients choose any NHS-contracted provider for ADHD assessment, including some private providers funded by the NHS. It is not a NeuroFX service.

It exists, has helped people, and has been overwhelmed in turn: published waits at many RTC providers are now measured in years. The ADHD UK tracker is the single best place to compare current RTC provider waits.

If RTC is your priority, check the tracker first. If a fast private route is your priority, that is what NeuroFX is for.
Open the ADHD UK tracker →
Shared care · GP prescribing

Shared care is your GP's decision.

Entering into a shared-care agreement after private titration is entirely at the individual GP's sole discretion, and is also affected by Greater Manchester ICB policy. We cannot guarantee any GP will take on prescribing responsibility following a private assessment or titration.

If shared care after titration is a priority for you, speak to your Manchester GP before booking to understand their position. We will provide a structured handover designed to make that conversation as easy as possible.

No surprises. We'd rather lose a booking than have you discover this after you've paid.

About the Manchester patients we prescribe for

In and around Manchester.

Manchester is a city that has reinvented itself more decisively than almost any other British city in the past thirty years, transforming from post-industrial decline to a cultural, commercial and creative force with a confidence that is entirely its own and entirely justified. The music, the football, the universities, the food scene and the Metrolink system that has gradually stitched the city region back together all reflect a city that decided what it wanted to be and got on with becoming it.

Greater Manchester has a population of nearly three million people across ten boroughs, held together by a particular northern directness and a deep civic pride that goes well beyond sport.

This page is for Manchester, Salford, Stockport, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Wigan, Altrincham and surrounding villages.
