Hello, I'm Tina. I'm the lead clinician at NeuroFX. At our CQC-registered clinic, we offer specialist autism and ADHD assessments for children aged six and over and adults.
So after booking an assessment with us online or in person, you'll then be invited to take part in the onboarding process, and that is for you to be able to tell your story. It will include physical and mental health history, and then after that, you'll be sent some additional screening tools, which can all be completed in digital format online. You can pause at any time, and you can do that in the comfort of your own home. This enables me to better understand your story and your individual needs before we meet.
Next is your ADHD assessment, which is either online or in the clinic, coming to talk to me face to face. The process does take about two to three hours. That'll give you a chance to hopefully feel relaxed in an environment where you can tell me about the impacts and difficulties and how these have affected you. This follows all NICE guidelines.
In some situations, I may be able to tell you the diagnosis on the same day that we meet. In other scenarios, I might have to perhaps gain some more evidence. You might need to talk to other people, employers, family, partners, school, university, for me to be able to get a really good idea of the evidence, perhaps that you can't see yourself, and might help towards that diagnosis. You'll be provided a diagnostic report, provided I have all of that evidence, within 14 days.

Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner & Independent Prescriber (NISP)
Every NeuroFX ADHD assessment is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE NG87 (ADHD diagnosis and management).
For Uxbridge patients in particular, having one clinician end-to-end means no diagnostic hand-offs and no inconsistency between assessment and prescriber. Same person, all the way through.
For most Uxbridge adults, the 65 minute journey to our Bedford clinic is worth it for the in-person experience. Online over secure video is fully available for adults who'd rather not travel; the diagnostic protocol is identical.
Bedford Consulting Rooms on Goldington Road is a calm, residential-style space, not a hospital. Pay and display car park immediately next door (1 minute walk). Central rail station 8 minutes walk.
If travel isn't realistic, adult assessments can be conducted entirely online via a secure GDPR-compliant video platform. The diagnostic protocol and the fee are identical. Not available for under-18s.

Uxbridge is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Hillingdon in north west London, and demand for neurodevelopmental assessment here has been rising steeply for both children and adults. The local picture is set out clearly in Hillingdon Council's own Health and Social Care Select Committee report of 16 September 2025, which records that as of 28 July 2025 there were 220 children and young people awaiting an initial autism assessment and a further 1,468 who had had an initial assessment and were awaiting diagnosis, with 321 adults awaiting an autism assessment at the end of June 2025; the report notes the average expected wait for a diagnosis is currently between 18 months and 2 years for both children and adults.
For children, the single local diagnostic centre is the Child Development Centre on the Hillingdon Hospital site, run by Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL); CNWL also runs the adult autism diagnostic service for Brent, Harrow and Hillingdon, which states a current wait of approximately two and a half years, and an adult ADHD service across the eight north west London boroughs whose own page reports a waiting time of over 36 months and which has been temporarily closed to new referrals since 10 November 2023. From 1 April 2026 the local commissioner changed, with NHS North West London ICB merging into the new NHS West and North London ICB, though where people are seen does not change. A private assessment with NeuroFX, a CQC-registered clinic, sits alongside NHS care rather than replacing it, and is available to Uxbridge patients online or in person at the Bedford clinic, which is reachable by train; NeuroFX assessments are typically arranged within 6 to 8 weeks.
Any move to shared care for medication between an NHS GP and a private provider remains at the GP's sole discretion, so if shared care matters to you it is worth speaking to your GP before booking. Families locally can also draw on genuinely local support while they wait, including the Hillingdon charity HACS (Hillingdon Autistic Care and Support) and the Centre for ADHD and Autism Support (CAAS), both of which the council names as partners, alongside Hillingdon SENDIASS and the Hillingdon Parent Carers Forum.

Two things every Uxbridge patient asks about. We've separated them clearly here so you can decide your route with full information, rather than discovering the catch after you have booked.
Right to Choose is an NHS England policy letting eligible patients choose any NHS-contracted provider for ADHD assessment, including some private providers funded by the NHS. It is not a NeuroFX service.
It exists, has helped people, and has been overwhelmed in turn: published waits at many RTC providers are now measured in years. The ADHD UK tracker is the single best place to compare current RTC provider waits.
Entering into a shared-care agreement after private titration is entirely at the individual GP's sole discretion, and is also affected by NHS West and North London ICB policy. We cannot guarantee any GP will take on prescribing responsibility following a private assessment or titration.
If shared care after titration is a priority for you, speak to your Uxbridge GP before booking to understand their position. We will provide a structured handover designed to make that conversation as easy as possible.
Uxbridge is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Hillingdon, a West London town at the western end of the Piccadilly and Metropolitan lines with a genuine market town character that predates its absorption into London -- the market has been running since the fourteenth century. The Treaty of Uxbridge in 1645, a failed attempt to negotiate an end to the Civil War between King and Parliament, was held here.
Uxbridge is close to the M25, M40 and Heathrow Airport, with the Chilterns accessible to the north and the Grand Union Canal running through the town offering towpath walks and a surprising amount of greenery for a place this well connected.
