Hello, I'm Tina. I'm the lead clinician at NeuroFX. At our CQC-registered clinic, we offer specialist autism and ADHD assessments for children aged six and over and adults.
So after booking an assessment with us online or in person, you'll then be invited to take part in the onboarding process, and that is for you to be able to tell your story. It will include physical and mental health history, and then after that, you'll be sent some additional screening tools, which can all be completed in digital format online. You can pause at any time, and you can do that in the comfort of your own home. This enables me to better understand your story and your individual needs before we meet.
Next is your ADHD assessment, which is either online or in the clinic, coming to talk to me face to face. The process does take about two to three hours. That'll give you a chance to hopefully feel relaxed in an environment where you can tell me about the impacts and difficulties and how these have affected you. This follows all NICE guidelines.
In some situations, I may be able to tell you the diagnosis on the same day that we meet. In other scenarios, I might have to perhaps gain some more evidence. You might need to talk to other people, employers, family, partners, school, university, for me to be able to get a really good idea of the evidence, perhaps that you can't see yourself, and might help towards that diagnosis. You'll be provided a diagnostic report, provided I have all of that evidence, within 14 days.

Adult ADHD medication is not a one-off prescription. NICE NG87 and the British Association for Psychopharmacology (BAP) consensus describe a structured titration over months. Here is what your six months with NeuroFX look like.

Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner & Independent Prescriber (NISP)
Every NeuroFX medication and titration package is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE NG87 plus British Association for Psychopharmacology (BAP) guidance. She works with both stimulants (lisdexamfetamine, methylphenidate IR and modified-release) and non-stimulants (atomoxetine, guanfacine), chosen based on your clinical picture, not protocol.
For Biggleswade patients in particular, having one clinician end-to-end means no diagnostic hand-offs and no inconsistency between assessment and prescriber. Same person, all the way through.
For most Biggleswade adults, the 20 minute journey to our Bedford clinic is worth it for the in-person experience. Online over secure video is fully available for adults who'd rather not travel; the diagnostic protocol is identical.

Biggleswade sits in Central Bedfordshire, an area under sustained pressure on neurodevelopmental services. Local NHS waits are long: the East London NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes adult autism service, states a pre-assessment wait of approximately 14 months and a diagnostic clinic wait of three and a half to four years (ELFT service page, accessed May 2026), while the town's Ivel Medical Centre tells patients NHS ADHD and autism assessment for children runs at approximately three years and for adults exceeds five years.
SEND pressures are felt acutely by families locally; in August 2025 the Bedford Independent reported the former Mid Bedfordshire MP Alistair Strathern warning that families dealing with SEND across Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire are being let down by the system, following packed parent meetings including one at Arlesey village hall near Biggleswade. There is genuine local investment alongside this: in May 2025 Central Bedfordshire Council opened an Autism Centre of Excellence at Stratton School in Biggleswade, initially welcoming eight pupils with capacity for 24, as part of its Special School Places Plan.
From 1 April 2026 NHS commissioning for the area moved to the new NHS Central East ICB, a merger of the former BLMK, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, and Hertfordshire boards, although this is an organisational change and where people are seen has not altered. For someone weighing their options, that can mean staying on an NHS list, exploring NHS Right to Choose, or arranging a private assessment with a CQC-registered clinic, which sits alongside NHS care rather than replacing it.
Any move to shared care for medication remains at the GP's sole discretion, so it is worth speaking to your GP first if that matters to you. Entering into a shared-care agreement after private titration is entirely at the individual GP's sole discretion, and is also affected by NHS Central East ICB policy. We cannot guarantee any GP will take on prescribing responsibility following a private assessment or titration.
