Hello, I'm Tina. I'm the lead clinician at NeuroFX. At our CQC-registered clinic, we offer specialist autism and ADHD assessments for children aged six and over and adults.
So after booking an assessment with us online or in person, you'll then be invited to take part in the onboarding process, and that is for you to be able to tell your story. It will include physical and mental health history, and then after that, you'll be sent some additional screening tools, which can all be completed in digital format online. You can pause at any time, and you can do that in the comfort of your own home. This enables me to better understand your story and your individual needs before we meet.
Next is your ADHD assessment, which is either online or in the clinic, coming to talk to me face to face. The process does take about two to three hours. That'll give you a chance to hopefully feel relaxed in an environment where you can tell me about the impacts and difficulties and how these have affected you. This follows all NICE guidelines.
In some situations, I may be able to tell you the diagnosis on the same day that we meet. In other scenarios, I might have to perhaps gain some more evidence. You might need to talk to other people, employers, family, partners, school, university, for me to be able to get a really good idea of the evidence, perhaps that you can't see yourself, and might help towards that diagnosis. You'll be provided a diagnostic report, provided I have all of that evidence, within 14 days.

Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner & Independent Prescriber (NISP)
Every NeuroFX ADHD assessment is conducted personally by Tina. 15 years of specialist mental health nursing experience and extensive neurodiversity specialist care, having conducted hundreds of ADHD and autism assessments. Tina is also an independent prescriber and an advanced specialist paediatric sleep practitioner. Assessments and prescribing follow NICE NG87 (ADHD diagnosis and management).
For Dundee patients in particular, having one clinician end-to-end means no diagnostic hand-offs and no inconsistency between assessment and prescriber. Same person, all the way through.
For most Dundee adults, the short journey to our Bedford clinic is worth it for the in-person experience. Online over secure video is fully available for adults who'd rather not travel; the diagnostic protocol is identical.
Bedford Consulting Rooms on Goldington Road is a calm, residential-style space, not a hospital. Pay and display car park immediately next door (1 minute walk). Central rail station 8 minutes walk.
If travel isn't realistic, adult assessments can be conducted entirely online via a secure GDPR-compliant video platform. The diagnostic protocol and the fee are identical. Not available for under-18s.
You are served by NHS Tayside, part of NHS Scotland. A private NeuroFX assessment is typically 6 to 8 weeks (next available soon), available alongside NHS Scotland care rather than replacing it.
In Dundee, NHS adult ADHD and autism assessment is the responsibility of NHS Tayside, with autism assessment provided through the Tayside Adult Autism Consultancy Team (TAACT) and ADHD typically routed via adult Community Mental Health Teams, usually starting with a conversation with your GP. Pressure on these services is significant: a Scottish Parliament SPICe briefing (24 June 2025) reported that NHS Tayside and NHS Forth Valley have the longest median waiting times of over 130 weeks for neurodevelopmental assessment, and in a Freedom of Information response dated 26 September 2025 NHS Tayside explained that it records data only in terms of "Neurodevelopmental Assessments in general" and does not hold separate autism or ADHD waiting figures across Tayside. NeuroFX is a CQC-registered private clinic in Bedford that offers secure online ADHD and autism assessments to people in Dundee, typically completed in 6 to 8 weeks, and this sits alongside NHS Tayside care rather than replacing it.
Scotland does not operate the NHS England "Right to Choose" scheme, so a private assessment is a separate choice rather than an NHS-funded referral. On medication, there is no national NHS Scotland shared-care policy; whether a GP enters a shared-care arrangement after a private assessment and titration is a clinical decision at the GP's sole discretion, informed by National Autism Implementation Team (NAIT) guidance and the local NHS Joint Formulary, so it is worth speaking to your GP first if shared care matters to you.
Local support is strong, from Scottish Autism's Dundee Connections service for autistic adults to the Dundee and Angus ADHD Support Group, which now runs monthly adult peer support.
Adult ADHD and autism assessment in this area is planned by NHS Tayside, part of NHS Scotland. Right to Choose is an NHS England scheme and does not apply here.

Two things every Dundee patient asks about, set out clearly so you can choose your route with full information rather than discovering the catch after you have booked.
In Scotland you access an NHS ADHD or autism assessment through a GP referral to your local NHS Tayside Community Mental Health Team, where it joins the waiting list if accepted. Scotland does not have NHS England's Right to Choose, so you cannot direct an NHS-funded referral to a private provider. A NeuroFX assessment is a separate, privately funded route that runs in parallel, typically completed in 6 to 8 weeks.
Entering a shared-care arrangement after a private assessment and titration is entirely at the individual GP's sole discretion. There is currently no national NHS Scotland shared-care policy; National Autism Implementation Team guidance is clear that a private specialist's recommendation does not by itself entitle a patient to NHS prescriptions. We cannot guarantee any GP will take on prescribing, so if shared care matters to you, speak to your Dundee GP before booking. We provide a structured handover designed to make that conversation as easy as possible.
